(Ongoing project)

Offshore is a project documenting life past and present on the small islands of Britain. It is an investigation into the experience and feeling of ‘islandness’.

I took these photographs across a series of road trips, travelling alone by motorcycle and ferry, covering a total of 4000 miles and visiting 17 islands, from the west of Cornwall to the northern-most tip of the Outer Hebrides.

I photographed landscapes, structures and signs of life in each location I visited. All with the end goal to produce a body of work that encompasses the sense of peaceful loneliness and immersion in the landscape, I felt as a solo traveller passing through these islands.

Offshore.
